![]() ![]() After peace-treaties were made, new countries and nations arose, but the stateless and minorities, especially in Eastern and Southern Europe, had no belonging anymore. ![]() Due to the fact that these nations were composed of a population with different cultures, the decline of these Empires resulted in the existence of minorities and the stateless, since there could not be formed a nation for every culture existing. At the end of World War 1, major empires collapsed such as the Ottoman Empire, Russia, and Austria-Hungary. ![]() In her theory about the non-existence of these universal human rights, she refers to the “minorities” and the “stateless”. As a centerpiece of her criticism and thoughts about the problematic application of universal human rights, she bases her argumentation on the destiny of stateless, minorities, refugees and the displaced people of the 20th century. ![]() Chapter 9 The decline of the Nation-State of the book “The Origins of Totalitarianism” written by Hannah Arendt, deals with her critical examination of the application of universal human rights. ![]()
